Ibrowse Cache Restore v1.41 (c)1999 Hashpipe Software
Welcome to ICR, If you use this software it is at your own risk i will not
except any blame if anything goes wrong!!!
1) What dose this do then?
============================
Well ICR converts all cached web sites from Ibrowse into normal viewable
pages by restoring file names and directorys.
2) How do I use it then?
==========================
First copy the file ICR from this archive into your C: directory. After
you have done that open a shell window and type...
ICR source dest
source = The IBrowse cache directory, on my system this is:
"Work:IBrowse/cache/"
dest = This is where you want the pages put after then are restored,
on my system this is:
"ZIP0:WWW/"
So for me to restore my cache i type in:
ICR Work:ibrowse/cache/ ZIP0:
After you have used ICR for the first time it will only update newer or
updated pages. This will only work if the `dest' is the same as the last and
none of the restored pages are deleted.
3) What next?
================
Well after that you can use IBrowse to view the pages as local files.
Each site will have its own directory named after the site, Which contain
the pages restored from the cache.
4) Is that it?
=================
Yes that is it! If you have any comments:
email:- iain@hashpipe.freeserve.co.uk
WWW :- www.hashpipe.freeserve.co.uk
Have fun...
History
=======
v1.0
====
First release
v1.1
====
Fixed some directory problems.
v1.2
====
Fixed problems with filename case.
v1.3
====
Fixed problem with file names.
v1.4
====
ICR now only copys pages if they are newer. This does not work all the time
due to problems with file names of pages from search engines. They confuse
ICR, It trys to make directories like this,
"supersearch/http://bla.bla/bal/@?@?@!$%thepage546374"
ICR see's all the forward slashes as diferent directories and ends up
with say, "supersearch/http://" which will not work. I don't see this a
major problem but if you would like me to sort it out(if i can) then email
me and i will see what i can do.
v1.41
=====
Fixed bug where if the source or dest paths did not end with a `:' or `/'
then no files would get converted.
